Matt Sims – SOD Stem Cell Patient

Matt and his family traveled from the United States to China for Matt to receive several transplants of umbilical cord blood stem cells over the course of a 40 day cycle including physical therapy, acupuncture and electro-wave therapy. Matt has a disease called Septo Optic Dysplasia. He has limited vision and some learning disabilities. But he lives independently holds a regular job and just wants a bit more independence. Matt wants to drive. Matt knows that adult stem cell therapy, as delivered in China today, is not a cure for SOD but it could help improve his vision and his quality of life.
